As humans we can be cautious.
We like to see and hear from people we trust when we make decisions.
This is especially true of financial decisions.
Alex was no different.
He had come across my articles and videos on LinkedIn and immediately they struck a cord.
The last year he had begun to be increasingly aware of his lack of action around his finances, and in particular the tax from his employee share plan RSU (Restricted Stock Units).
While he understood and accepted there was tax to pay from these RSU’s, he had no idea how much or how to manage it.
Consequently. he put his head in the sand.
That was until he saw an invitation to join me on a webinar where I took him (and others) through the pain points and problems we see Executives with RSU’s face.
As I explained our secret sauce (the Share Scheme Scoreboard) Alex began to see how this could help him.
The scoreboard listed all of his awards, the award date, the vest date, the currency conversion, the vest value and the estimated tax for each award.
He quickly got onto organising a meeting (a Scoreboard and Strategy Session) where we unpacked all of his awards, mapped out his tax payable for the next 3 years and began to develop a tax and cash flow plan to pay for the tax.
We commenced our work together and we were able to develop more financial strategies that tapped into his existing assets, utilised his cash flow and showed him how he could create a further $2M of wealth over the next 10 years.
Not only does Alex now feel comfortable that his tax situation is taken care of, he can see the value in our work together and where he is headed financially.
If you are interested in finding out more about our work, a great place to start is to download our Share Scheme Scoreboard.
It shows you exactly what we put together for Alex along with some visual diagrams and is a great place to start your journey to never having another tax surprise.
